Shmuel was launched into the world of activism from his stroller. He went on to volunteer thousands of hours at soup kitchens, food distributions, and holiday gift giveaways with his family.

Since then, his efforts have gained global recognition. He then  appeared in the International Center of Photography (ICP) and in the museums best-selling book on the COVID-19 era. His earnest work has also been highlighted in newspapers, magazines, and online outlets and in  the anti-hate initiative of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, and more.

Shmuel has built an extraordinary record of civic engagement, community service, and public leadership. In Fall 2025, Shmuel was selected as a Youth Ambassador for the Mayor’s Office for the Prevention of Hate Crimes under the Adams administration.

He also rallied on the steps of City Hall in support of legislation to provide free Halal and Kosher lunches in public schools, amplifying the voices of children with religious dietary restrictions.
